[RF] Newsletter 020703
Greetings Members of Redemption,
Welcome to another fun fleet newsletter coming straight at you from the greasy keyboard of Dave's well-worn computer! The RF has been a busy place in recent weeks, but I'll try to make this NL short and sweet anyway.
The STC has started weekly Battlenights on Fridays at 6 PM EST. Be there or be square! STC members also have until February 14th to fight their intersquad competition matches and report on the results.
The RS SWG Player Association has been very busy with discussions on its bbs. Go check them out at http://www.rebelsquadrons.org/bbs/board.php?id=25 and join today, because Galaxies is going to be a blast! Look for great things to come of this group in the months to come!
Ghost is working on its storyline and has its first flight sim missions available to fly.
Liberate Squad was just opened in the RF this month, I'm sure you all recall the email I sent out regarding its opening. The group has already run a couple of sims, so contact 1LT Dareesha Anais (spydersingh13@hotmail.com) if you're interested!
Rebel Squadrons Multimedia, rechristened Atlantis Industries, has a new website! Check it out at http://www.rebelsquadrons.org/rf/AI/ and please contact COL John Gonzalez (speedyg_rs@hotmail.com) if you can help AI out!
Kenobi Group is currently involved in writing out stories about the ORWII battles as a special project given to them by the FC. If you're interested in being part of something RS wide, consider joining Kenobi and offering your services to help on the project!
I am pleased to announce that the webpage (http://www.rebelsquadrons.org/rf/) has received a quite substantial face-lift. The basic lay-out will be familiar to you, but content has been revised and updated. There's more text, more pictures, and more fun! :) And, as usual, the Divisions page has been updated to reflect the new and current divisions.
I'd really like to honor some of my Divisions staff with promotions in this NL. Unfortunately, I am not able to do so because their primary fleet is not Redemption. So let me take this opportunity to remind EVERYONE, from Division COs to all members, that you can NOT be promoted in the RF for work done in the RF if your primary fleet is elsewhere! So please, go to the roster and switch your primary fleet to Redemption and save us all headaches. :) Did I mention that the RF has the best looking uniform of all the fleets, which automatically becomes yours if the RF is your primary? Just a side bonus, I suppose.
Anyway, here's the people that would have got promotions:
1LT Dareesha Anais, you have done an outstanding job of getting a new division up on its fleet in a hurry. You've kept in contact with me and have shown great initiative in leading Liberate. Keep up the good work!
CMDR Alec Jaggers, I am very impressed with the lead you've taken with Kenobi Group. Although the unit started off slowly, you seem to have found your niche, and I can't begin to tell you how proud I am that you're working on a project for the FC. Keep it up, I want to see good stories!
Classifieds: Jester, the STC CO, is looking for a new Paladin Squadron CO! This fun an exciting job offers the opportunity to prove yourself as a leader in the STC. See his post on the bbs here: http://www.rebelsquadrons.org/bbs/thread.php?id=3302
The fleet CO is looking for a new Solatium Battalia CO. Become the SB CO, and you can mold the group to your twisted purposes! See my post here: http://www.rebelsquadrons.org/bbs/thread.php?id=3379
Well, that's it for today. I have to say that I am INCREDIBLY pleased with Redemption Fleet's progress this past month. Our fleet is one of the BEST fleets in this club, and you people are to thank for it. The activity on our BBSes is amazing, and the Division COs have for the most part been doing a terrific job. Three cheers for our fleet, because it rules! :)
Reach for the stars, and you will find that you can often catch them!
